KBS Unveils ‘MA1’ Its First Idol Audition Program In Six Years

KBS unveils ‘MA1’ AKP STAFF, its first idol audition program in six years.

‘MA1’, or ‘MAKE MATE 1’, is the official name of KBS’s first idol audition program in six years.

As the first K-Pop idol audition series to premiere on KBS since ‘The Unit’ in 2018, ‘MA1’ will track 36 male contestants from diverse backgrounds and nationalities as they pursue their aspirations to become international K-Pop stars. The 36 competitors are just regular young people who started receiving organized instruction from KBS last year and are unaffiliated with any entertainment companies.

Mentors for the program include rapper Hanhae, dancers Vata and Ingyu of We Dem Boyz, vocal trainers Lim Han Byul and Kim Sung Eun, and MAMAMOO’s Solar. Throughout the series, special coaches are anticipated to make cameo appearances.
