Korean Mukbang YouTuber Woongei returns after dating violence scandalA YouTuber who was accused of breaking into his ex-girlfriend’s home and committing dating violence has resurfaced, sparking debate.Woongei, a popular Mukbang YouTuber, uploaded new videos recently.He returned on February 25 with ‘Greetings After a Year.’ He apologized, stating, “I apologize for recent misfortunes. Last year, I reflected and introspected.” His flaws included, “As a public figure, I should have been more cautious in my interactions with others.”Woongei said, “After reflecting on my experiences, I’ve realized the worth of capturing happy meal moments. I want to write with truth, care, and maturity.”Woongei was arrested in December 2022 for illegally invading his ex-girlfriend Ms. A’s Gangnam-gu, Seoul, residence and abusing her. He phoned a locksmith to break into his ex-girlfriend’s home and beat her when she returned. Woongei stated, “I was brought in for questioning based on the other party’s claims of assault.” His reputation suffered after a leaked audio clip showed him using vulgarity.According to Woongei’s lawyers, Ms. A would be counter-sued for false claims.
