Organisers of the canceled contentious Japanese adult actress festival ‘The 2024 KXF The Fashion’ are planning a larger event.

An adult festival was canceled due to Seoul Metropolitan Government resistance and public safety concerns. However, organizers want to have a larger gathering in June. Seoul Mayor Oh Se Hoon has stated that he will not intervene if the event is not in a public location.

The organizer of the ‘2024 KXF The Fashion’ adult festival, ‘PlayJoker,’ informed News1 on April 19 that “We plan to hold the event in Seoul in June and are considering renting a private venue.” They added, “We will double the number of Japanese adult video actresses previously booked.”

Around 10 PM on April 19, Mayor Oh Se Hoon stated on YouTube, “I will not get involved as long as the event isn’t held in a public space.”

In the video ‘Controversy over Seoul’s Adult Festival! Let me be clear,’ Mayor Oh remarked, “The Seoul Metropolitan Government has no intention of intervening in whether such shows are held in the city in the future.” Added, “However, when it comes to public spaces, the city has no choice but to intervene within the limits prescribed by law.”

The KXF was originally scheduled for April 20–21 in Suwon. The organizers moved the event to ‘Earth Cruise,’ an outdoor bar in Jamwon Hangong Park in Seoul, due to Suwon City resistance. Seoul Metropolitan Government wrote a letter forbidding the event at ‘Earth Cruise,’ threatening to cancel the rental approval. The event was transferred to a Sinsa-dong, Gangnam-gu bar. Japanese adult video (AV) actress agencies cited safety concerns, canceling the event.

Seoul City opposed the KXF concert, sparking internet outrage and calls to cancel women-targeted sexual entertainment acts. On the day of the announcement, ‘Imagination Seoul’ received complaints seeking a ban on acts that sexually objectify males.
