The ILLIT creative director sent a middle finger photo on Instagram, possibly aimed at Min Hee Jin
While HYBE and ADOR are at odds, ILLIT’s creative director posted a provocative photo that many saw as a direct message to ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin.
Heo Se Ryun, ILLIT’s creative director, posted a raised middle finger on her Instagram story on April 25. Photographer Mok Jung Wook posted the photo without a description.
The tweet coincided with ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin’s press conference, increasing its impact and leading many to believe Director Heo was venting her fury at Min Hee Jin’s claim that ILLIT is “a copy of NewJeans.”
HYBE is auditing CEO Min Hee Jin and another executive, A, for allegedly trying to take over ADOR and has demanded Min’s resignation.
CEO Min denies these charges, saying the issue began when HYBE’s subsidiary, Belift Lab, released ILLIT, copying NewJeans.
Korean netizens said:
“What the heck? Why does she emulate NewJeans?”
“She should know to be ashamed.”
“You can’t deny that people were saying ILLIT is similar to NewJeans.”
“She’s so childish.”
“I’m starting to not like ILLIT because of her.”
ILLIT made Min Hee Jin angry. I doubt they’d fight without ILLIT copying NewJeans.”
“She tweeted a nice finger to say ‘f u.’ Very funny.
