Mother Of NewJeans Member: “Chairman Bang Does Not Accept NewJeans’ Greetings, HYBE CEO Park Ji-won Promises Long Vacation For The Group”

Ms. A, the mother of one of the NewJeans members, spoke to Ilgan Sports by phone during HYBE’s dispute with ADOR. A regretted on the 12th, “I feel really distressed that this situation arose because we sent such an email.” Ms. A and two other NewJeans mothers visited HYBE on April 25, ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin’s press conference day. “We were worried about the repercussions and thought that maybe we could bridge the gap between HYBE and ADOR,” she said. “Mr. Park Ji-won (CEO of HYBE) arrived about 20 minutes late, while other executives were already there,” A said. “We barely had a few minutes to discuss our mediation before they showed us on laptops that ‘CEO Min had done this and that wrong.'” On March 31, NewJeans parents, including Ms. A, emailed ADOR about plagiarism by HYBE’s Belift Lab, a new group. CEO Min emailed HYBE and Belift Lab on April 3 with her thoughts, including this issue. After receiving no answer, ADOR wrote another email on April 16, and HYBE replied on April 22, starting an audit of ADOR that afternoon. Ms. A responded to allegations that CEO Min pushed NewJeans mothers to write such emails, “Even HYBE mentioned that, showing us messages from ADOR’s Vice President and saying that they know all about it, which was quite shocking.” “We didn’t know if we could use certain words, so we asked CEO Min to check the email we wanted to send,” Ms. A told HYBE executives that the NewJeans parents began it. When friends emailed her concept photographs of another group, Ms. A mistook them for NewJeans’s new photos due to similarities but noticed a missing ’00.’ “It was very similar, so the mothers discussed it and asked CEO Min about it,” she said. In the case of “HYBE’s Chairman Bang Si-hyuk didn’t even greet our kids, which seems to be a similar experience for other kids after their debut,” Ms. A said “One child was even in an elevator with him, and he didn’t acknowledge the greeting.” When asked again, HYBE staff said, “Ladies, you’re really misunderstanding; Chairman Bang might have face blindness,” she said. “After leaving the conference, I wondered, ‘Can he hear with face blindness? Do you usually welcome people even if you don’t know them?” Miss A recalled. HYBE also highlighted CEO Min’s supervision of another group, warning that the youngsters should not hear it. “After leaving HYBE, articles concerning its management appeared within one hour. It contradicted their talk of caring for the youngsters “Ms. A added. HYBE denies neglect and answers to NewJeans’ parents’ email. CEO Park later told the NewJeans parents that HYBE’s specialists could handle NewJeans’ Tokyo Dome event even though CEO Min hadn’t supplied any data. “He also mentioned that after the Tokyo Dome event, he planned to give NewJeans a long vacation,” said A. Ms. A said, “We clearly told HYBE that we want NewJeans to continue with CEO Min, a sentiment all five members’ mothers share.” Ms. A addressed fears about HYBE neglecting idols without CEO Min, saying, “A NewJeans world tour next year was announced by CEO Min before this issue happened. Talking about a long holiday…” A top HYBE official stated, “Long vacations don’t entail hiatuses. After a comeback, idols usually work hard, rest, and plan for another. The official added, “NewJeans’ activities are not halted. HYBE cares for NewJeans and helps them become top artists.” As for a hiatus, the official replied, “Why discuss producers and creators if we were planning one? CEO Min is intentionally inciting fan hatred for her independence.” CEO Min was accused of embezzlement, but the official said, “There is a lot of evidence, and when it is presented in court, everyone will understand HYBE’s sincerity.”
