The group New Jeans (NewJeans) has made a major achievement by entering several categories on the Billboard annual settlement chart in the United States, proving their outstanding global performance this year.
On November 22, 2023 (KST), Billboard announced the 2023 Year-End Charts. According to the charts, New Jeans’ second mini-album “Get Up” ranked 134th on the main album chart “Billboard 200 Albums.” This is the highest ranking for a K-pop girl group’s album in this category this year. “Get Up” debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart (as of August 5) after its release in July, and has been on the chart for 17 consecutive weeks.
In addition to the main chart, “Get Up” also ranked fourth on the “World Albums” chart, tenth on the “Top Current Albums Sales” chart, and twelfth on the “Top Albums Sales” chart.
New Jeans entered the ‘Global 200’ and ‘Global (excluding the U.S.)’ with five songs each, the most among K-pop artists. In ‘Global (excluding the US)’ and ‘Global 200’, ‘Ditto’ ranked 24th and 52nd respectively, ‘OMG’ ranked 25th and 41st respectively, ‘Hype boy’ ranked 49th and 147th respectively, and ‘Super Shy’ ranked 84th and 117th, respectively, and ‘ETA’ ranked 165th and 197th, respectively.
