According to the Busan Meteorological Administration, 1.2 cm (~0.5 inches) of snow fell. Busan had its first Christmas Eve snowfall since 1999.


As the morning snowfall began, Busan warned residents of slick roads and potential accidents on icy streets, urging them to be cautious to protect pedestrians and drivers.

South Korea’s record-breaking cold wave brought snow on Christmas Eve morning across the nation. Jeju Island had a heavy snow advisory on December 23 KST, predicting 8 cm of snowfall in its hilly parts. Seoul had 1-3 centimeters of snow, while central and southern cities got 5 cm.
