SHINee’s Key recently shed light on an interesting aspect of the group’s stage formation in a YouTube video uploaded on the ‘1theK Originals – Wonder K Original’ channel on September 18 KST. It was mentioned frequently that Key and fellow member Minho stood closer together than usual, leaving a conspicuous gap in their lineup. Key explained that this was due to the absence of the late Jonghyun, who previously occupied this position.
Key revealed, “Since we’ve sustained a 5-person formation for more than a decade, I’ve become so accustomed to that space that I now stand there without thinking. It’s not intentional, but I’ve grown acclimated to this behaviour. It is truly incredible.” He then pointed to a photo of all five original members, including Jonghyun, sharing the stage and stated, “This is the current stage configuration.”
Key’s touching revelation about the group’s stage formation underscores their remembrance of Jonghyun, who regrettably passed away on December 18, 2017. Despite his absence, his position in the band continues to be honoured, demonstrating the members’ continued strong bond with him.
