SHINee’s Taemin To Leave SM Entertainment After 16 Years

On March 5 KST, SHINee’s Taemin was reported to be ending his exclusive contract with SM Entertainment at the end of the month.

Since joining SHINee in 2008, Taemin has been managed by SM Entertainment for 16 years, renewing his contract many times.

As his exclusive contract expires, Taemin will start a new singing career with a different agency. SHINee is anticipated to continue working with SM Entertainment on group projects.


Taemin has dominated K-pop with hits like “Replay”, “Ring Ding Dong”, and “Lucifer” since his SHINee debut. After going solo in 2014, he captivated listeners with songs like “Move”, “Want”, and “Guilty”.
