YG Entertainment Refutes Rumors Regarding The Expense Of BLACKPINK’s Contract Renewal

YG Entertainment refutes rumors regarding the expense of BLACKPINK’s contract renewal

Regarding rumors regarding BLACKPINK’s contract renewal price, YG Entertainment refuted them.

On March 21, speculation started to spread that BLACKPINK will have to pay YG Entertainment at least 30 billion KRW ($22.5 million USD) to extend their group activities contract. A netizen also claimed that the label has extended each member of the girl group’s contract for around 10 billion KRW ($7.5 million USD).

YG Entertainment responded by saying that BLACKPINK was not the only recipient of the aforementioned sums. One label representative claimed that the agency had signed and renewed additional intellectual property contracts, and that the expense reports contained all of the associated costs. They did not, however, disclose the specifics of BLACKPINK’s contract or the related expenses.

As previously mentioned, BLACKPINK’s contracts with YG Entertainment to market as a group were extended in December 2023. Meanwhile, their individual promotions will take place under different labels.
